Exhibition 2010

The dates of the next Denmead Art Exhibition will be 25th and 26th September 2010.

The venue is All Saints' Church Hall, Denmead, Waterlooville, Hants, PO7 6NN - see below for map.

Entry forms will be sent out during June 2010 to all on our list, and the deadline for entries will be 4th September 2010.

What it's all about...

This exhibition has been running every year since 1974. It is not associated with any particular art group but its aims are, and have always been, to promote the work of local artists, as well as to raise funds for the Church and other charitable concerns.

In 2009 the proceeds were shared between the Church organ fund, 'DABS' and 'Pastimes'.

DABS (Denmead Activities and Bible School) has been running every summer for almost 30 years. It is a children's holiday club providing four days of fun, friendship and faith for over 200 children of the village. Stories, craft, sports, music and games, all led by a multitude of helpers, give the children a fun-filled week for a minimal cost.

PASTIMES is a 'Holiday at Home' for those senior members of our community who may not be able to enjoy a holiday away from home, and takes place for two days in mid/late August. Pastimes offers friendship and good company whilst enjoying speakers talking on a wide range of subjects, demonstrations of crafts as well as a tasty lunch and refreshments throughout the day. There is also a short service to finish the day.

The Church Organ, as well as being used for many of the Church services also plays a very important part in some of the 'Season of Music' concerts which are held throughout the year. Visit the Church website for more details: www.allsaintsdenmead.hampshire.org.uk
